Source Code Protection

Source code protection adds another layer of security against technical users and internet bots.

Code Protection

While mouse, keyboard & screen locks in Photolock™ primarily aim to block a non-technical user's attempts to download your images, a person who knows how to view the code of a website can locate the images in the code and download from there.

Source Code lock makes it harder for a user to capture your images from your website's source code. This lock uses various methods to detect a visitor's attempt to view the source code, and when discovered it hides the code from the user.

The code will be inaccessible from a web browser inspect tools when this lock is activated.

Anti-Bot Protection

A bot is an application that performs an automated task, such as setting the alarm, telling you the weather, or searching online. Bots are everywhere in today's world, ranging from malicious bots that come with a virus to search engine spiders that crawl the Internet looking for new Web pages or image files to collect.

The "Anti-bot protection" feature uses various methods to block malicious bots reading your website's source code and scraping your site to collect images without your permission.

Search engines like Google & Bing use bots as well to crawl URLs and rank sites in search results, but those bots are very kind & respectable bots, and they will not track you when proper signals are sent, which you can do with Photolock™.

"Anti-Bot Scraper Protection" will have no effect on search engine bots, and Photolock™ offers an additional lock if you would like to prevent your images displayed in search results: Google Lock & Bing Lock.
